During its autumn 1999 recording sessions in Brooklyn, New York, Gaizse Music discovered “Encodings,” one-minute sound pieces representing fragments of “The Plan” for the Universe that The Other embedded into Cris Tobal.  Immediately Kerry d’Noit and Liam d’Noit realized the need to gather sixty or more of these sound pieces for inclusion on a compilation yet to be released, entitled Cris Tobal’s Encodings, Vol. 1.  In autumn 2006, Kerry d’Noit and Liam d’Noit developed and agreed to enter into a composition game in which each would create an EP of Encodings according to the rule that each Encoding be exactly one minute in duration and created by remixing only source material from the then completed pieces set for release on the forthcoming Gaizse Music’s forthcoming release, Tales of The Banished & Elite.  Guided by these requirements, Kerry d’Noit remixed and remastered the piece “Gaizse Mantra: Incantations of Offering” to create “ZS0026://fullmoonwoodcut,” the twenty-sixth one-minute sound piece Gaizse Music produced and canonized as an Encoding.  “ZS0026://fullmoonwoodcut” appears on Gaizse Music’s 2006 release Baladas Minuciosas Para Los Azsulos and includes sampling and programming by Kerry d’Noit and vocals, percussion, sampling, and programming by Liam d’Noit.

Gaizse Music composed, recorded, and mixed “Silent Moment” in Brooklyn, New York, during autumn 1999.  Unavailable as a stand alone work, until now, this short sound poem was originally intended to be a part of the re-recorded “Fabulous Beasts,” which will appear on Gaizse Music’s forthcoming release, Tales of The Banished & Elite.  “Silent Moment” includes sampling and programming by Kerry d’Noit and Liam d’Noit.

Gaizse Music composed, recorded, and mixed “Gaizse Mantra: Incantations of Offering” in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in October 1997.  A traditional mantra of the New Aizse, the sound piece contains four incantations praising and asking for protection from each of the Major Gaizsian Deities (Bob Uallowal, Buheahmyth, G-Bon N’touk, and Cris Tobal).  “Gaizse Mantra: Incantations of Offering” will appear on Gaizse Music’s forthcoming release, Tales of The Banished & Elite and includes sampling and programming by Kerry d’Noit and vocals, percussion, sampling, and programming by Liam d’Noit.

On April 6, 1997, Gaizse Music released its third album, entitled Cris Tobal’s Genealogy of Gaizse: Book One.  With a run time of one hour, ten minutes and twenty-six seconds, the album was conceived of as an anthology pulling together eleven remixed and original condition archival tracks representing conventional Gaizsian identified genres, including Salt Rock, Space Jive, and SZoundscape, among others.  “Space Jive Turkey (Astral Mix),” the album’s seventh track, is a traditional Space Jive song that was apparently sung in praise of the Ertez intergalactic hero referred to by the Ertez as Space Jive Turkey.  Gaizse Music originally composed, recorded, and mixed “Space Jive Turkey” during autumn 1995 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania for release on its first album, entitled Dangerarse Emergence! Plug It Up.  In winter 1997, Liam d’Noit remixed “Space Jive Turkey” to include an extended introduction pieced together by recording new drums, samples, and toy melodica to a previously recorded Kerry d’Noit guitar riff.  “Space Jive Turkey (Astral Mix)” includes electric guitars, bass guitar, sampling, programming by Kerry d’Noit and drums, sampling, programming, toy melodica, and lead vocals by Liam d’Noit.

During autumn 1999, in Brooklyn, New York, Gaizse Music recorded and mixed “Buheahmyth” for inclusion on its forthcoming release, Tales of The Banished & Elite.  The original archival version of the song appeared on Gaizse Music’s third album Geneaology of Gaizse: Book One, which was released in 1997.  The song tells the story of Buheahmyth, the Gaizsian Deity of excess and waste.  “Buheahmyth” includes sampling, programming, and backing vocals by Kerry d’Noit and lead and backing vocals, sampling, and programming by Liam d’Noit.

Gaizse Music composed, recorded, and mixed “Lament of Azsulo” in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, during autumn 1997.  Unavailable as a stand alone work, until now, this song was originally intended to be part of a much larger sound piece “My Only Friends://Lament of Azsulo,” which will appear on Gaizse Music’s forthcoming release, Tales of The Banished & Elite.  “Lament of Azsulo” includes guitars, bass guitar, sampling, programming and backing vocals by Kerry d’Noit and lead and backing vocals, percussion, sampling, and programming by Liam d’Noit.

Gaizse Music released its second album on December 31, 1996, after a marathon set of recording sessions that autumn in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  With a run time of twenty minutes and forty-four seconds, the album, entitled A Sneak E.P., was conceived of as a short anthology pulling together four tracks representing conventional genres from each of the Gaizsian Mythic Realms: The Dinosaurs, The Samsons, The Ertez, and The Myndgloid.  “Have You Pledged To The Legion?,” the album’s second track, is a traditional Salt Rock song apparently sung to promote loyalty to The Samsons’ Legion during its wasteful, deadly war with The Ertez.  Gaizse Music composed, recorded, and mixed “Have You Pledged To The Legion?” during November 1996 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  The song includes electric guitars, bass guitar, sampling, programming, and backing vocals by Kerry d’Noit and drums, sampling, programming, and backing and lead vocals by Liam d’Noit.

During autumn 1996, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Gaizse Music composed, recorded, and mixed a demo version of “Have You Pledged To The Legion?” and reworked, recorded, and mixed an alternate version as well as the album version of the song that was included on its second release, A Sneak E.P. Unavailable, until now, “Have You Pledged To The Legion? (Demo)” includes electric guitars, bass guitar, and backing vocals by Kerry d’Noit and drums and backing and lead vocals by Liam d’Noit.

During autumn 2003, in Brooklyn, New York, Liam d’Noit composed, recorded, and mixed a demo version of “Cris Tobal” for Gaizse Music to develop into a complete work for inclusion on its forthcoming release, Tales of The Banished & Elite.  “Cris Tobal” is a Gaizsian Mantra extolling the central Gaizsian Deity.  Unavailable until now, “Cris Tobal (Demo)” includes vocals, sampling, and programming by Liam d’Noit.

Gaizse Music composed, recorded, and mixed “Ballad of Flapcast” in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, during autumn 1997.  Unavailable as a stand alone work, until now, this song was originally intended to be part of a much larger sound piece “My Fucshia Flip-Flops://Ballad of Flapcast,” which Gaizse Music first released in 1998 on the My Fucshia Flip-Flops Single and which will appear on Gaizse Music’s forthcoming release, Tales of The Banished & Elite.  “Ballad of Flapcast” includes guitars, bass guitar, sampling, programming and backing vocals by Kerry d’Noit and lead and backing vocals, drums, sampling, and programming by Liam d’Noit.

Gaizse Music recorded hours of musical and sound source material during many home studio and field recording sessions from August-December 1997 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  The October 20th “Ballad of Flapcast” recording session included Kerry d’Noit on guitar and Liam d’Noit on drums and was intended to create musical source material for a much larger sound piece “My Fucshia Flip-Flops://Ballad of Flapcast,” which Gaizse Music originally released in 1998 on the My Fucshia Flip-Flops Single and which will appear on Gaizse Music’s forthcoming release, Tales of The Banished & Elite.  This raw, live DAT recording (Take 4 from “Ballad of Flapcast” recording session) was not used by Gaizse Music as the base track for the song “Ballad of Flapcast” included in the larger sound piece, but it represents one of the earliest articulations of the song’s component sections.  In the end, Gaizse Music created the base track for “Ballad of Flapcast” by editing segments from two separate takes from the recording session.

During autumn 1996, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Gaizse Music composed, recorded, and mixed a demo version of “My Only Friend” and released the song as a stand alone work on its second album, A Sneak E.P. In autumn 1997, Gaizse Music decided to incorporate “My Only Friends,” a remixed and slightly renamed version of the song, into a much larger sound piece “My Only Friends://Lament of Azsulo,” which will appear on Gaizse Music’s forthcoming release, Tales of The Banished & Elite.  ”My Only Friends” includes guitar, sampling, programming, and vocals by Kerry d’Noit and sampling and programming by Liam d’Noit.

In November 1996, Kerry d’Noit traveled from Savannah, Georgia, to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to work with Liam d’Noit on completing Gaizse Music’s second album A Sneak E.P. In addition to his acoustic, electric, and bass guitars, effects, and amplifier, Kerry brought a folded loose leaf paper with ideas and partial lyrics for a song he called “Fabulous Beasts.”  The two immediately set about finalizing the lyrics, developing musical ideas, recording, and mixing the song, which Gaizse Music included on A Sneak E.P. “Fabulous Beasts (Fossil Mix)” includes sampling, programming, guitars, and backing vocals by Kerry d’Noit and lead and backing vocals, sampling, and programming by Liam d’Noit.

In November 1996, Kerry d’Noit traveled to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, from Savannah, Georgia, to work with Liam d’Noit on completing Gaizse Music’s second album A Sneak E.P. In addition to his acoustic, electric, and bass guitars, effects, and amplifier, Kerry carried with him several 4-Track audio cassettes containing pieces he had recorded and that the pair would finalize for the album.  One of the 4-Track cassettes contained an eleven minute, twenty-four second composition entitled “Dust In The Signal’s Crack Shadows Asunder,” which Gaizse Music released the following year on its third album, Cris Tobal’s Genealogy of Gaizse: Book One.  The conclusory movement of that larger composition, “Buttship Serenade” has always been such a favorite of Liam’s that he decided to make it available as a stand-alone work, for the first time, on G-Bon N’touk’s myndPod.  “Buttship Serenade (Digitally Remastered)” was composed, recorded, and includes samples and guitars by Kerry d’Noit and, in January 2009, was digitally remastered by Liam d’Noit.

Inspired by a scene in the PBS Frontline documentary “The Lost American” describing disaster relief specialist Fred Cuny’s participation as a pilot in relief efforts to Biafra in the 1969 Nigerian Civil War, Gaizse Music composed, recorded, and mixed “My Fucshia Flip-Flops” in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, during autumn 1997.  Unavailable as a stand alone work, until now, this song was originally intended to be part of a much larger sound piece “My Fucshia Flip-Flops://Ballad of Flapcast,” originally released in 1998 on the My Fucshia Flip-Flops Single and which will appear on Gaizse Music’s forthcoming release, Tales of The Banished & Elite.  ”My Fucshia Flip-Flops” includes guitar and sampling by Kerry d’Noit and vocals and sampling by Liam d’Noit.

From Philadelphia, in spring 2001, Kerry d’Noit quietly mailed a parcel to Liam d’Noit in Brooklyn.  In addition to a small Peruvian doll wearing a yellow knit cap and a $100 bill play money cape, the package included a MiniDisc entitled Pecan Yo!, which contained thirty-three audio tracks composed, recorded, and mixed by Kerry.  Among these were twenty completed Encodings for inclusion on Cris Tobal’s Encodings, Vol. 1 (forthcoming) and twelve sketches, of various lengths and states of completion, for Liam to build upon in the creation of additional songs and larger sound pieces.  Track 31, labeled on the track list as “? Happy – Was For Chris Song (Yes I Did),” was an instrumental song composed, programmed, recorded, and mixed by Kerry d’Noit.  The previously unavailable version included here, entitled “Happy (Instrumental Remix),” was extended and remixed  by Liam d’Noit to accommodate lyrics he wrote for a yet to be competed final version of the song.
